About Tim

Tim Spector is a medically qualified Professor of Epidemiology and Director of the TwinsUK Registry at King’s College London. He is the scientific co-founder of ZOE, the nutrition science company leading the gut health revolution, which runs the world’s largest in-depth nutrition study, the ZOE PREDICT program. His work focuses on improving health with cutting-edge research on the gut microbiome and personalised nutrition.

 

Having published more than 900 research articles, he is ranked in the top 100 of the world’s most cited scientists. He is the author of five popular books including “The Diet Myth”, “Spoon Fed”, “Food for Life”, a Sunday Times bestseller, “The ZOE Food for Life Cookbook” and “Ferment.” He makes regular appearances on mainstream media,  in his capacity as an expert in the gut microbiome. 


Tim founded the ZOE Health Study, which became the world’s biggest community science app, thanks to the hundreds of thousands of citizen scientists who logged their symptoms. Tim was awarded an OBE for this work during the pandemic to help progress our understanding of COVID-19.
